DB Cargo Scandinavia A/S was established as a production company in 2009 and is owned by the German company Deutsche Bahn AG.
DB Cargo Scandinavia is responsible for day-to-day production of the company’s many freight trains, which run daily between destinations in Denmark and connect Scandinavia with the rest of Europe in effective transport corridors.

Purchase of shares from Green Cargo
On 14 March 2018, DB Cargo bought back 49% of the shares in DB Cargo Scandinavia A/S from the Swedish Green Cargo. The new ownership structure marks the end of 10 years of co-ownership, which means that DB Cargo Scandinavia A/S is now able to offer one-stop services between Germany and Sweden via Denmark. However, DB Cargo intends to remain a close business partner of Green Cargo in connection with providing transport services to a number of customers.
With an already strong foundation in Denmark, this investment aims to ensure market share growth in Scandinavia and to attract new customers, particularly in the Swedish market. At the same time, it takes us one step closer to our vision of establishing ourselves as a larger and more Scandinavian company than we already are today.
